Lake Sebago

Warren and Stuart have been to the lake a couple of times to look over the situation relative to installing a new stove and securing the door to the cabin.  A stove was subsequently purchased from Home Depot and taken to the camp but hasn’t been Installed yet.  We also have a new heater which had been purchased from Suburban a while ago and is now being stored at the cabin pending installation.

The day that Stuart and Warren took the new stove to the cabin, they also installed screening on the window next to the door and added a padlock which can be opened by the Wanda key to increase the security of the cabin.

One of the Camp requirements for club cabin holders is that they host at least two activities at the Lake .  It was decided to do a Cabin and Grounds Cleanup day on the first Open House which is May 11.  September 14 was selected for a currently unspecified activity.

Cruising Trip Report   Sunday, April 7, 2002               Farmington River

Trip Leader:  Warren Yeisley

Put-in:  About a mile below the dam at Cole Brook, just north of Riverton , Connecticut

Take-out:  Peoples State Forest , a distance of about 6 miles

Difficulty:  Class II

Participants:      Joan Vieni                     Carole Baligh                 Helen Yeisley

Warren Yeisley              Erik Muller                     Laura Muller

The day was very pleasant and sunny.  The water was low, but negotiable for the first couple of miles until we were below Riverton and then a few side streams came into the river and increased the volume of water.  We all took our turns getting hung up on the rocks, but no one had to get out and push.  It was a delight to get out and start paddling.

New Business

Motion was made by Jim McLoone and seconded by Stuart Alpart to make our boat trailer available to the Girl Scouts for three weeks in July for their camp program.  Passed unanimously.
